Theme Thursday - History
On this day in history, Wilbur and Orville Wright made the first flight. Taking for the skies in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, in their Wright Flyer, they were the first men to fly. Without wings on their backs or feathers on their arms, they flew, as man had so often dreamed of, wished for, and prayed for. To be immortal, to take flight, to soar. Man soars - not so high as an eagle, not so low as a penguin, but we soar on land. We evolved with legs for a reason - to walk. We evolved arms for a reason - to touch. We evolved brains for a reason - to think. To know. To learn. And to fly. Historic.
(This doesn't make much sense...............)

Actually, it makes perfect sense. Try it as a poem.
ReplyDeleteSweetly poetic.
ReplyDeletei think it makes great sense...we all have that desire to soar...
ReplyDeleteI agree it makes perfect sense. And I never knew that first flight was in the midst of winter.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece for history! I like it and it does make sense!
ReplyDeleteImagine their thrill upon success! Mind boggling.
ReplyDeleteBut how could it make sense? How does flying make sense? It seems like a magical thing to do and can you imagine the world with no aircraft? Things would be much slower and many of us would not have had the chance to go to many places.
ReplyDeleteGreat theme idea!
This was great and it made total sense. I went to Kitty Hawk once and it was amazing to look at the field and think,"how did they know it was going to work?"
ReplyDeleteDo they serve coffee during the flight?
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the theme. Happy TT!
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is it's COLD AS THE KLONDIKE in Kitty Hawk this time of year. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I think it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteFlight is a major part of history. I mentioned them in my post too. Happy TT
